Plants:

One of the many identifying features of summer is the neon that seem to surround us. It's everywhere: clothes, signs, buildings, everything seems to have bright colors and we would not want to disappoint you with boring water plants. As if the name does not reveal enough, tropical water lilies are bright and look like they belong in the tropics instead of your mid-western backyard. They come in a variety of colors; purple, blue, yellow, red, you name it. They are a great way to add color in your water garden this summer.

Fish:

Another great way to add some bright colors to your water garden is adding some fish. They soon become the jewels of your water feature and can act as a great stress reliever. There is just something about the swish swish of their bodies gliding through the water that just makes you forget everything that was bothering you. Many of my customers say that their favorite thing to do when they come home is to feed their fish. They become more than just something pretty to look at, they become your pets.

Ponds:

If you did not get a clean out this year (which you should have for sure) you may be noticing sludge and debris in your water garden. This is one of the most unattractive things to see in a yard, kind of like a dirty swimming pool. An easy way to get rid of this is to put Aquascape Sludge and Filter Cleaner in your pond. Talk to Steve at the store for more helpful tips on how to keep your water feature crystal clear.
