Getting Ready for Autumn

It is now autumn! When you think of fall you want to think of sweaters, soups, colorful leaves, and hot cocoa. Not murky water. The best way to prevent that thought from even entering your mind is by preparing your water garden for fall. You can prepare by including these few things to your water garden.

• Leaf Net
• Cold Water Fish Food
• Aerators
• Cold Water Beneficial Bacteria
• Pond heaters
• Skimmer nets 
• Thermometers

Adding a leaf net to your water garden blocks the leaves form getting into your wg (obviously😏). The leaves would decompose and turn your water an murky brown color, which not only do you not enjoy but your fish don't either. Decaying leaves release toxic gases which can overwhelm your fish, even causing death. Cold Water Fish Food is made specifically for your fish as they get ready for hibernation, plus it doesn't dissolve and pollute the water. Aerators help to add oxygen to the pond which benefits the environment and it keeps some of the water surface ice-free. Heaters can keep an opening in the ice too. Cold Water Bacteria keeps the water clear, removes sludge, uneaten fish food, and fish waste.
