A Picture Perfect Water Feature

Plants
We are living in a beautiful painting. The vibrant pigments that make up the elegant May flowers. The dazzling bright blues of the summer sky. The graceful brush strokes that make up murky green of your water garden's water. Oh, it is just such a gorgeous painting-it's priceless. Wait, no. Nobody green water, they want crystal clear water. So how do we make your water the color of glass? A great way is to have a perfect balance of plants in you water garden. Oxygenating plants can add to the perfect balance. They filter out the water, helping prevent algae. Some oxygenating pants include anacharis and hornwort. Floating plants, such as water lettuce and water hyacinth, also help reduce green water since their roots are dangling in the water. The roots then suck up nutrients that the algae needs into order grow, thus preventing the algae from spreading. Marginals also take up excessive nutrients in the water, competing with the algae. Water lilies' and water lotus' leaves float on the surface of the water, blocking sunlight. As we all know plants need sunlight to grow so by reducing the amount of sunlight reaching the algae, we reduce the growth of the algae. Fish love added plants, especially the fry (fish babies) and the eggs because it protects them form predators, giving them places to hide. All of these plants add beauty to your water garden and add to making your backyard picturess.
